Jose Lopez said the decision to say goodbye to his little girl, Marian, broke his heart, but he hoped some good would come out of it.

“I made a humanitarian decision to donate my daughter’s organs so another person can live,” a tearful Lopez told local station KABC-TV.

Lopez’s 1-year-old daughter, Lindsay, died on Wednesday some two hours after he came home from an early morning grocery run to find his wife, Lorna Valle, holding the two girls underwater in a baby bathtub, authorities said.

Valle, 32, was initially charged with murder and attempted murder, but will face a second count of murder for Marian’s death, The Associated Press reported.

Neighbors and family members said she has a history of depression and mental illness, and authorities believe she “snapped” before trying to kill her two daughters in their south L.A. home.

She was being held on $1.5 bail. If convicted she could get life in prison.
