A man first jumped in front of a northbound No. 1 train inside the station at Broadway and W. 72nd St. shortly before 8 a.m., police said.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was rushed to Roosevelt Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A few hours later, just before noon, another man was hit by an uptown No. 2 train within the same subway stop. It was not immediately clear if the man jumped or fell onto the tracks.

He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition.

Northbound trains were running on the local tracks as emergency workers responded to each scene.
