Hawk posted his new clean-cut look on his Twitter account Friday with the following explanation.

“Today is a special day for me as I’ve decided to cut off my hair and give it to someone who needs it more than I do,” he tweeted. “My wife and I are proud to start Hawk’s Locks for Kids, which will be helping kids with cancer. No child should have to feel ashamed of themselves due to a disease. We are hoping to raise enough money and hair donations to change many lives!”

Hawk, who has started 91 of the Packers’ 96 games since he was drafted out of Ohio State, further explained on Twitter that hair needs to be 12 inches long for his organization and that he will be having a fund-raising event in June.

In the meantime, he has set up an address for hair donations: Hawk’s Locks for Kids, 4890 Blazer Pkwy #B, Dublin, OH 43017.

The only question left to be answered is whether fellow long-locked Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will put a package in the mail anytime soon.
