The New Orleans Hornets are expected to get a little extra star power in their home game Thursday night (March 22), but from an unlikely source: Samuel L. Jackson.

The Oscar-nominated actor, in town to shoot Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” is scheduled to introduce the team before it takes the court against the Los Angeles Clippers, a game that will mark the return of former Hornets star Chris Paul to The Hive.

Tickets to the game are still available at Hornets.com and by calling 504.525.HOOP.

It’s not the first time this season that the Hornets have enlisted an A-list actor to do the duties. Actor Will Ferrell — who was in town earlier this year shooting the political comedy “The Campaign” (previously “Dog Fight”) — introduced the teams before the Hornets’ Feb. 8 home game against the Chicago Bulls.
