MISS INFO:
Mega was a former co-worker of mine at Hot97, where he was Fatman Scoop’s board engineer, and when Scoop moved to mid-days, Megatron took over the overnight slot. He also showed his diversity as an on-air personality for BET’s 106th and Park. And if you ask any of the shocked and saddened Hot97 family, you’ll hear the same thing over and over…Mega was such a nice guy, always happy to chat, and genuinely interested in how you were doing. But what I remember most about Mega is that when I would come in, bleary-eyed at 5:30 in the morning, bracing myself for the morning show….Mega would be finishing up his shift, and preparing to drive from NYC to Philly for his other radio gig. But even at that hour, his enthusiasm was a reminder…of how lucky we were to be working with the music we loved, with the people who inspired us.
That’s what Megatron shared. Our condolences go out to his family, and the 3 children he leaves behind.
