Most teams will say they’ll gladly take any fans who want to jump aboard their bandwagon. But the Dallas Cowboys likely aren’t feeling that way today.

Jerry Jones’ team gained the unwanted distinction of getting rooted for by a man who was executed last night.

Jesse Joe Hernandez was put to death by lethal injection in Texas, and according to the Associated Press his last words included a shoutout to the Cowboys.

“God bless everybody. Continue to walk with God,” Hernandez said. “Then he shouted, “Go Cowboys!”

Hernandez, 47, was executed for the beating death of a 10-month-old boy he was baby-sitting, 11 years ago.
