Daily Mail A pregnant mother was brutally stabbed and her body mutilated at a Mississipi casino.

Brandi Nicole Floyd, 25, was at least five weeks pregnant when she was found on a hotel room floor in the early hours of Thursday morning.

She checked into the Hollywood Casino’s hotel in Tunica County with her boyfriend, 34-year-old Nathaniel Yates III, who has been accused of her murder.

The couple had travelled from Tunica from Collierville, where they together with their one-year-old daughter.

They were staying in room 139 when neighboring guests overheard arguing shortly before 6am.

Hotel security staff were called who in turn called police.

Officers found Floyd dead on the hotel room floor, having been stabbed multiple times with an unidentified sharp object.

A knife found at the scene is being examined to help identify whether it was the weapon used in the slaying.

Police were forced to stun Yates with a Taser gun after he jumped through a first-floor window in an attempt to resist arrest.

He was treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto Hospital for cuts and bruises sustained when he leapt from the first-floor window. He will be arrested upon his release.

Friends and neighbors of the couple said they were known to be having problems.

They said Floyd appeared afraid and would cry frequently, one adding that Floyd had once fled the house saying Yates was going to kill her.

Collierville officials said police were called to the couple’s home recently on a domestic complaint. Yates has also been arrested on drug charges.

Colleague and neighbour Susan Quasdorf described Floyd as a ‘very sweet girl’.

‘Everyone enjoyed her,’ she told WLOX.com. ‘She was very friendly with the customers.’
