When last we left the search for the featured team on this season of HBO’s Hard Knocks, the Falcons had passed on an opportunity to be on the show.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, there are still a handful of teamsunder consideration for the show. It’s no surprise to learn that the Jets are one of those teams. They were already featured on the 2010 season of the show, of course, when they drew lots of attention to the show thanks to Rex Ryan’s outspoken personality and the Darrelle Revis holdout. Ryan’s still there, Revis could be headed for another contract showdown and now Tim Tebow is in the mix to make things even more likely to generate ratings.

Ryan hasn’t seemed as enthused about the idea of a return engagement, but owner Woody Johnson has made no secret of his interest in another spin on the merry-go-round. General Manager Mike Tannenbaum has also come out against a second HBO visit to training camp, but it seems that there hasn’t been any move to take the Jets out of the running to this point.

Mehta’s report didn’t mention any of the other teams under consideration. The Jaguars have expressed interest in being on the show, which HBO would like to nail down as soon as possible so that they can begin filming material for the show during the June minicamp.
