For All you iPhone users out there that may have trouble inserting your usb cord into your smartphone or ipad while in the dark, there might be a solution in the works.

A company by the name of Scrap Pile Labs have created a cord that illuminates in the dark called cordlite.  Now with all the invetions for the iPhone that have popped up though the years im surprised no one has come up with a cord that has a light on it. To get the project started Scrap Pile Labs has turned to kickstarter to get the project rolling. At the moment the company are taking donations of $25, $45 and $50. The first 200 backers of the project will get a chance to get a early batch of the cord.

As of right now the cord is still in Patent Pending mode, so mass produced product is not on the way but stay tuned.

Irv Bushnell and Marcelo Blalock have over 20 years of combined design and engineering experience.

Irv spent 8 years in Design and Engineering at Kennedy Space Center. Projects include Solid Rocket Booster Camera Systems, Future Launch Pads, and Next Generation Launch Vehicles. Irv started his own design company called Irv Design, and successfully designed, manufactured and released a camcorder accessory back in 2009 and shipped to over 50 countries worldwide.

Marcelo has worked several years in Electrical Engineering at Kennedy Space Center, and previously provided consulting services for an electrical engineering company, Compucom Eng, here on the Space Coast.

Marcelo and Irv have teamed up to bring the CordLite to market, and hope to release many other fresh and simple products in the future.
