A survey commissioned by the romantic social network Zoosk.com has found that almost three quarters of men and women between the ages of 18 and 49 say that things are better in the bedroom when they are away from home
The survey questioned 1,529 adults and found that 22 per cent believe that tropical vacations were the most romantic type of getaway.
For 19 per cent of those polled, a trip to a romantic city like Paris or Rome trumps a beach vacation. A cruise and a trip to an exotic, far-flung spot earned 15 per cent each from the participants of the survey, while nine per cent said they prefer a stay in at a cosy bed and breakfast.
A road trip and a camping excursion earned eight and nine per cent, respectively.
This latest data is not surprising, according to sexuality counselor Ian Kerner, who wrote a column on the subject for CNN.

Vacations offer couples worn out by work and responsibilities a sense of freedom from restrictions, a relaxation of inhibition, a focus on having fun, coupled with increased alcohol consumption, Kerner writes.
Many couples also choose to ‘go off the grid’ while away from home, turning off their cell phones and peeling their eyes off the computer screen to focus on and reconnect with one another.
Kerner also said that researchers in the Netherlands found that ‘the key to female arousal seems to be deep relaxation and a lack of anxiety.’
With all the romance talk, however, vacations are not all frozen drinks and sunsets for couples.
