The lawyer for Bears receiver Brandon Marshall said last week that he has been cleared of any wrong doing after he was accused of punching a woman outside a New York City nightclub. But Marshall says he wants one more thing before he moves on: An apology.
Marshall told Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times that he believes the woman owes it to him to publicly say she’s sorry.
“I’m really disappointed that it happened,†Marshall said. “In every situation, you have to look at how you contributed to that situation. But she publicly went out and accused me of these things, and I felt she should have publicly apologized for what she did. She saw an opportunity — maybe a financial opportunity — and it just didn’t work out because of the surveillance cameras that were there. I’ve worked hard to change some things in my life, but I can’t have things like that happen.â€
The accuser, Christin Myles, said in March that she wanted Marshall held criminally accountable but has not spoken publicly since Marshall’s lawyer said he had been cleared.
