Michael Vick, according to Tim McManus’ story in Philadelphia Magazine, is being sued by J.O. Sports Company for allegedly failing to meet the conditions of a contract that paid him $101,500.

Vick specifically is being accused of failing to provide game-worn equipment and to attend private signings.

Vick, however, asserts that the relationship with J.O. Sports had been terminated in October of last year after its owner Jarrod Oldridge was indicted for fraudulent business practices. Oldridge, according to the report, was accused of such practices as altering jerseys to make them look worn and increase their value. He has also pleaded guilty to mail fraud.

Vick responded through his P.R. firm: “My primary concern is for my fans. If my fans want to buy game-used memorabilia, it is important that the merchandise is 100 percent authentic.

“I will not support a company that is accused of misleading fans. It is an easy decision to make.”
