A woman busted for shoplifting at a Walmart on Thursday evening cooked meth in a soda bottle while being held in the Missouri store’s loss prevention office, authorities say.

St. Louis County police noticed the liquid inside the 20-ounce bottle was bubbling and immediately evacuated the Mehlville store because of the possible dangers, KMOV of St. Louis reported.

“It was a volatile situation because the meth lab was actively working but I don’t think anyone was in danger with the way the were able to move everyone out,” St. Louis County police Lt. Mark Cox told KMOV. “It was still volatile, but everybody was kept at a safe distance.”

Aside from the bottle, nothing suspicious was found in the store, which reopened hours later.

St. Louis County police found materials used to make meth in the woman’s car outside the store, according to reports.

The shoplifted item allegedly found on the woman was unrelated to the production of meth, authorities told STLtoday.com. It is believed that the woman did not begin making the meth until she was inside the store.

“There are lots of one-pot cooks,” Cox told the STLtoday.com. “But taking it into Walmart is very unusual.”

The woman and an unidentified male were arrested.
