It looks like developers have taken to Apple’s iPad and iPhone when it comes to developing news apps. The desire to build on other platforms are lessen when developers make 4 times less when building on other platforms. The question is why do developers make less on other platforms???

According to new developer research data from advertising and analytics company Flurry Analytics, 7 out of 10 apps are developed on iOS today, mostly because for every $1 an iOS developer makes, an Android developer makes $0.24.

The data was from January to March and doesnt come as much of a suprise, since the iPad fare pretty well in the tablet market, and 88 percent of user sessions that pinged Flurry’s advertising network from a tablet, were from an iPad. The remaining 9 percent and 3 percent were from the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Amazon Kindle Fire respectively.

“Apple offers the most compelling ‘build once, run anywhere’ value proposition in the market today” stated Flurry Analytics, when it came to developing for iPhone and iPad. Android fragmentation across OS versions and manufacturers was also another issue that factored in. The main problem with Android though, was piracy.

Apple’s closed ecosystem means developers get more of a return in investment of hard work. Android’s ability to sideload apps though, means most users have little reason to pay for apps. More info over at the link below.
