Another day, another celeb/athlete arrest for DWI.  SMH.

New York Giants starting left tackle David Diehl was arrested Sunday under suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Queens, according to several reports.

Diehl was being held in the 114th precinct in Queens, according to WNBC-TV, which first reported the arrest. A police officer at the precinct would not confirm the arrest or discuss any details about the case when reached by ESPNNewYork.com.

The New York Post reported through police sources that Diehl, a member of both of the Giants’ recent Super Bowl-winning teams, was driving his black BMW when he struck vehicles on 35th Avenue near 31st Street in Astoria at around 8:20 p.m.

There were no passengers and Diehl was not injured, according to the newspaper. WNBC reported Diehl was taken into custody after failing a breathalyzer.

Peter Schaffer, Diehl’s agent, did not discuss the arrest when reached by ESPNNewYork.com.

“I am honored to represent David Diehl,” Schaffer wrote in an email. “One of, if not the classiest, most humblest New York Giants ever.”

Diehl, who won the Wellington Mara Man of the Year Award on May 22, tweeted earlier Sunday that he was at Westchester Country Club to attend a charity event.

Diehl, who is of Croatian descent, also tweeted Sunday about Croatia’s 3-1 victory over Ireland in a European Championship game.
