When Norton, 49, started to mention “Part of Me” singer on his talk show, the 37-year-old British comedian fired back, telling the host, “My mum is here. She got upset when you dragged up my marriage.”

Though Norton was only trying to point out that Brand’s former spouse had visited the show last week, it nonetheless prompted a tongue lashing from the Rock of Ages star.

“I have come here to promote a film and you made my mum cry. I don’t see you as that sort of person, Graham,” Brand blasted.

Brand’s mother, Barbara, was seated in the audience at the time of the argument.
The funnyman, who split from Perry, 27, in late 2011, then scolded the TV presenter for his lack of professionalism.

“What I would have done, mate, in your position is come up to me before the show and gone, ‘Eh, listen it’s a bit odd your ex-missus was on last week. I might mention it, is that OK?’” Brand said. “But in all of the chatting and the research backstage, no one mentioned it.”

“Some human beings get married and hopefully it works out for them and maybe it won’t,” he added before dropping the subject.
