Daivd Winoker was celebrating his friend’s birthday with a skydiving adventure in upstate New York.  His adventure quickly became a tragedy when his parachute failed to open and he plunged to his death, with a funeral on father’s day.

It should have been a day of jubilation. Dad-of-three David Winoker was celebrating a friend’s 50th birthday on Friday with an upstate New York sky dive.  

But the party ended in tragedy when 42-year-old Winoker’s parachute failed to open, sending him and his instructor, Alexander Chulsky, plunging to their deaths.

Adding to the heartache, Winoker’s funeral will be held on Sunday, which is Father’s Day and also happens to be the 23rd birthday of his dad, Sid.

Friends told the New York Post that the grandad is ‘inconsolable’ at hearing the news of his son’s death.

A service will be held at 11.30am at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford Corners.

As well as his father Winoker leaves behind his wife, Jillian, three children, and the family-run real-estate company, Winoker Realty, founded by Sid 30 years ago.
