In the book, “What Really Happened,” Hunter depicts her lover’s cancer-stricken wife as “crazy,” shouting demands at her husband, physically attacking him and callously firing his staffers — all while keeping up the public persona as a “saint,” according to ABC News.

The book is set to hit stores on June 26, and Hunter’s publicity blitz is to begin on Friday with an interview on ABC News’ “20/20.”

Hunter also writes that Elizabeth stalked her after getting wind of the affair, repeatedly calling and hanging up “at all hours of the day and night from various numbers,” Hunter recalls.

Elizabeth Edwards died of cancer in December 2010.
