Once America’s favorite family, Jon and Kate Gosselin had quite a messy divorce that the entire world watched step by step. There were plenty of nasty fights, name-calling and the like for a couple years that ultimately led to the cancellation of their hit show Jon & Kate Plus 8, but now that they’re out of the spotlight, things seem to be much better. There’s definitely no reconciliation on the horizon, but the two are in a much better space for co-parenting. Details below.

(RO) – The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality star said that despite their courtroom brawls and Twitter wars, they are getting along better than ever and speaking for the first time in three years.

“Now Kate and I communicate great. It’s parenting together but in separate locations. She’s a great mother,” Jon told People.

on gave an excuse for why he acted so callously to his wife and little children with his cheating and partying.

“I married at 22 and for 10 years I never went out. I reverted back to being 23. I didn’t realize how famous I was,” he said.

He also accepted responsibility for the breakup with Kate and the drama he caused in their family. “I didn’t think because I was in the moment,” Jon said. “I was passive aggressive. Then I’d get mad, but I wasn’t the one communicating.” As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Jon has started dating a new woman, 27-year-old Liz Janetta, who he met in a local restaurant.

“We’re serious with each other,” Jon said. “But we’re both single parents who are divorced, so we’re taking it slow.” With a new job, new girlfriend and a new house, Jon said that things are going well for him. “For the first time I’m content with everything in my life.” Jon, who once took Kate to court over having their children on TV, has since had a change of mind. “They miss it. Now it’s different. They’re older. I want the best for them.” Jon also hasn’t ruled out a return to showbiz either. “I have to think about my kids. I want to make them proud.”
