Nicki Minaj has broken yet another record in her 5 year career. After already becoming the highest charting female rapper in the UK, getting the most VEVO views for a debut in one day with “Stupid H*e” (the record has since been broken, however), becoming the first female rapper with 7 entries in Billboard’s Top 10 Singles chart and more, the HB can now add another accolade to her list. And it’s all thanks to “Starships”! Continue reading for more.

Carly Rae Jepsen tops the Billboard Hot 100 for a fifth week with “Call Me Maybe,” while Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” has logged its first 21 weeks in the top 10, establishing a new record.

Minaj’s “Starships” descends 8-9 in its 21st week. While that move might seem unremarkable on the surface, it grants the rapper/singer a piece of Hot 100 history. Since debuting at No. 9 the week of March 3, “Starships” has yet to depart the top 10 for 21 weeks running, marking the most consecutive frames that a top 10-debuting title has remained in the region from its arrival. “Starships” passes the Black Eyed Peas’ 2009 smash “I Got A Feeling,” which spent its first 20 weeks in the top 10, including 14 at No. 1.

Contributing to its four-months-long chart fortunes, “Starships” has won support at multiple radio formats, reaching No. 2 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, No. 3 on Mainstream Top 40 and Rhythmic and No. 24 on Adult Top 40. On the lattermost chart, that’s Minaj’s best rank as a lead act.

“Starships” has racked 1.3 billion cumulative audience impressions in reaching No. 3 on Hot 100 Airplay and has sold 3.2 million downloads.

Congrats chica!
