Apples are currently being genetically modified so they will no longer brown and will remain crisp. The “Arctic Apple” will stay crisp despite how long it’s been exposed to air. Call me crazy but I think I’d much rather have brown, not crispy apples than some form of modified ones. Read more below.

You know how the old story goes: You want to eat an apple. You cut into that apple. The apple turns brown. You no longer want to eat that apple.

Not your experience? Well, not ours either, but a team of scientists at Okanagan Specialty Fruits (OSF) is on the non-browning-apple-case anyway, The New York Times reports.. Their new invention, the “Arctic Apple” is genetically modified to stay crisp and never brown, as un-modified apples do when they are exposed to air for too long.
