WHITNEY CANYON (KTLA) — Nearly 6,500 of marijuana plants were seized from a growing operation in Whitney Canyon area of Santa Clarita.

Narcotics officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department discovered the lot of marijuana plants in various stages of growth Friday morning.

Narcotics officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department discovered the lot of marijuana plants in various stages of growth Friday morning.

Officials say the marijuana plants were in various stages of growth and had a street value of $6.4 million.

Helicopters transported four cargo nets worth of plants, camping and farming equipment, and over 7,000 pounds worth of trash.

Two men were arrested in collection with the bust.

U.S. Forest Service assisted with the operation.
