NBA champion LeBron James recently revealed what tunes he and his Miami Heat get down to in the locker room and said rap newcomer Big K.R.I.T. falls on his radar.

Outside of co-signing rappers like Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, King James pointed out how big of an impact K.R.I.T.’s “I Got This” anthem had on the team.

“I go old school sometimes in the locker room, I go new school. Of course I’m gonna play Jay-Z, Kanye. I play Rick Ross, Lil Wayne,” James told MTV News while promoting the Sprite Uncontainable Game, in which he and Kobe Bryant will coach two teams of amateur players during 2013’s NBA All-Star Weekend. “I play some of the new artists like Wiz and Cash Outand Future and 2 Chainz.” There was one song in particular that helped motivate LeBron, Dwyane Wade and the other members of the Miami Heat’s squad to victory: “Also Big K.R.I.T. [‘I Got This’] was one of our theme songs this year,” James said of the single from K.R.I.T.’s debut album, Live From the Underground. (MTV)

Last month, rap newcomer Ca$h Out reacted to LBJ rapping his “Cashin’ Out” lyrics at a post-NBA Finals celebration party.

“He knew the words, man!” a geeked Cash Out told XXLMag.com. “It’s a blessing for people to recite the words to your song. He was celebrating and rapping at the same time. It’s a blessing…for him to acknowledge my song. I’m definitely a fan of the Heat.” And how does Ca$h Out rate James’ performance of his smash single? “From one to 10, I give him a 10, man,” the rapper added about the NBA superstar, who also rapped along to 2 Chainz’ “Riot” earlier that night as well. “I give King James an ‘A’ just because he won the championship. He was feeling good…probably one of the best feelings in his life. He’s a champ. I won some money on the Heat.” (XXL Mag)
