An FBI agent who vanished more than two months ago in Burbank has been found dead near his home.
Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn told City News Service the body of 35-year-old Steven Ivens was found Monday in a wooded area by two hikers who smelled a suspicious odor. The area is behind a church and not far from Ivens’ home.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office will determine how and when he died.
Authorities said Ivens was being treated for depression and was said to be distraught when he walked away from his home on May 10 with his keys and his service gun.
A massive air and ground search was unsuccessful.
Ivens’ wife, Thea, later made a public plea for him to return home. He leaves behind a 1-year-old son.
