As if the on-field struggles weren’t bad enough for the Dolphins, none other than President Barack Obama recently chimed in to rag on Miami. During an appearance with the popular Miami radio show, President Obama made sure to bring up the fact that the Dolphins went 0-4 in the preseason.

“Did you see that HBO special Hard Knocks?” Obama asked. “That’s a pretty good show. As I recall, you guys didn’t win any … in the preseason.”

Things are not going especially well for the Dolphins, who got blown out by the Houston Texans last weekend. And the worst may be yet to come. Houston defensive end J.J. Watt admitted this week that he picked up the Dolphins’ snap count after watching “Hard Knocks.” Yikes.

Meanwhile, President Obama’s Chicago Bears looked stellar in a 41-21 win over the Indianapolis Colts, and the commander-in-chief made sure to mention how optimistic he is.

“My Bears, I’m feeling pretty good about them,” Obama said.

The Miami Herald complained that Obama “avoided talking about 9/11 on 9/11’s anniversary, but made time to mock the Dolphins bad record,” a point that some Republicans used to pan the president for being disrespectful.

But ABC News later reported that the interview had been taped and was supposed to air on Sept. 10.
