You’d think the Jets couldn’t be any more of a circus than they already are. You could be wrong, depending on whether Woody Johnson gets his (reported) way with respect to the quarterback situation.

See, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, Johnson could “push” Rex Ryan and Mike Tannenbaum to give Tim Tebow a start. This despite Rex giving Mark Sanchez the dreaded voted of confidence this week.

“Two people who know Johnson, and know how he runs his football operation, believe he will push his football people to start Tebow,” Cimini wrote Tuesday.

It’s no secret that Johnson loves Tebow and thinks that the left-handed fullback is good for business. He made as much clear at the Republican National Convention this year.

“I think you can never have too much Tebow,” Johnson, a delegate for Republican nominee Mitt Romney, said.

It’s also not a huge secret that Johnson isn’t above meddling with football operations; he pushed the team to land Brett Favre before the 2008 season.
