Charlize Theron’s childhood home is again the scene of a grisly murder, decades after the mother of the Oscar-winning actress shot and killed Charlize’s abusive father in an incident ruled self-defense.

The home — in Benoni, near Johannesburg, South Africa — has now become the scene of another brutal murder, reported Sowetan Live. The current resident, Barry Newland, was killed when a gang of five robbers faked interest in one of the cars he had repaired to gain access to the home.

Once inside Charlize Theron’s former home, the men bound and gagged Newland with a plastic bag until he suffocated, Radar Online reported. The man was also burned with cigarettes and a clothes iron during the ordeal, local police said.

The men got away from the home with a cell phone, laptop, two camera, and iPod, and a gold chain. No arrests have been made yet.

The star of Monster and Snow White And The Huntsman has recently opened up about the horror that took place at her childhood home and noted that for years she told people her father was killed in a car accident to avoid talking about it.

“I think, for me, it took a long time to sink in, what had really happened because you just don’t think stuff like that will ever happen to you,” Theron told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer in 2004.

Charlize Theron was 15 when her father and uncle came home drunk. As Charlize sat in her room, she heard her father outside shooting at the front gate. He then banged on her bedroom door and said, “Tonight I’m going to kill you both with the shotgun.”

As her father fired into her bedroom, Charlize Theron‘s mother took the handgun and killed her father.

South African police said they are searching for the suspects in the most recent slaying at Charlize Theron’s home, E! Online reported.
