Microsoft are telling game makers no to adult based games for its 8 windows launch. So if your looking for adult based games in the windows 8 market don’t because Microsoft says its a no go.
A Microsoft representative has said titles such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Max Payne 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations could all be affected.
Section 6.2 of the Windows App guidelines – which also relates to games – states: “…apps with a rating over PEGI 16, ESRB MATURE, or corresponding rating under other ratings systems… are not allowed.”
As Kotaku.com points out, this is unlikely to affect the market in the US, where video games are rarely given an 18 certificate, but Europe – and in particular the UK, where classifications are much more strict – could miss out, with a host of games being unavailable from the Windows 8 marketplace.
