On Monday Oct.15 a pipe bomb was destroyed by Soffolk County Bomb Squad, this bomb was in a Home Depot in Huntington NY. The suspect who is yet to be identified sent a letter to the store in form of extortion, asking for money stating that if he does not receive the money by Black Friday he will strike again. Law enforcement officials are concerned the person who left an explosive device at a Home Depot on Long Island may attempt to do it again, NBC 4 New York has learned.

The crude pipe bomb was left at the Huntington store as part of an extortion attempt, law enforcement sources said. A letter was mailed to the New York Avenue store demanding money and describing where the bomb was inside the building.

The letter had been sitting for some time in the store before it was opened Monday. It stated that if the money wasn’t paid by Black Friday, more devices could be planted. Sources said the threat letter was mailed from Long Island.
