In an absolutely ridiculous move, three white students from Waverly High School in Waverly, NY decided to reenact a horribly brutal moment…and did it in black face to add to the brilliant idea. What’s worse, is not one staffer, student or parent tried to stop them as they watched on during their PEP RALLY! What kind of school does these things at a pep rally? Or ever, for that matter! “In the skit they would display acts of domestic violence as satire to an audience that included not only students but parents, faculty, and various members of the media and community leaders,” CNN reported.
“I think it’s unconscionable that such blatant racism has been tacitly approved two years in a row,” one Waverly alumni, now a Yale graduate, said of the incident. “The administration should be creating an environment where minorities are welcome, not the butts of racist jokes that make light of domestic violence.” Can you believe in 2012 something like this would happen?! I can’t wait until the school makes a statement on this one!
