This was big news to a business in Boston, who’d been operating their Blue Ivy Events company since 2009! It was a good thing for them, however, since it ended up bringing them more business than ever…but a problem arose when business savvy Bey decided she wanted to trademark the name, so as to allegedly start a children’s clothing line with it. A Boston judge has now ruled in the matter, and it’s not good news for the Carter crew. Details below.
A judge ruled Blue Ivy Events owner Veronica Alexandra can keep the name, denying the Carter’s application for trademarking. Via Fox Boston:
The ruling means the Carters have no legal rights to keep the name to themselves.
There appears to be no hard feelings between the parties. In fact, the Blue Ivy Events website features a picture of hip hop’s royal couple along with a message that reads, “Congrats to our soul mate couple with baby Blue Ivy.”
