Tech Talk News: Siri vs Google Voice Search for iPhone

A new visual test shows Apple’s Siri vs iOS Google voice search. And after the much hyped Siri for Apple, it showed to me no match for Google voice search. Does this mean Apple should bench Siri for awhile, maybe not but they should work on it a little more since that is one of their selling points for their iOS devices.

The test is bogus, not because the results are false (they aren’t), but because the technologies are different. Google Voice only searches google, while Siri goes to an answer engine that searches multiple sources and comes back with what it thinks are the best answers, so NATURALLY it’ll take more time since it doesn’t only search 1 source!

Another thing, Google Voice does about 10% of what Siri does. So is it fair to say that Google Voice has a long ways to go to catch up with Siri?! No! Google Voice is a voice activated Google Search, so you can’t compare it to a Siri that is a Voice activated Answer Engine, Scheduler, Program Starter, etc etc etc.

These type of comparisons/articles are just nice for HEADLINES, when is the US media (mainstream and bloggers etc) gonna get back to real reporting and real writing?!
