CIA Director General David Petraeus has handed in his letter of resignation to President Obama siting a extra-martial affair as the reason for him stepping down. Peteraeus met with President Obama today to see if he could step down from his position and President Obama accepted. Petraeus later released a public statement explaining his actions and calling his behavior unacceptable. Read more below.

He said:

“After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours,” Petraeus said. “This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.”
