Millions of people are lined up at stores around the country for the midnight release off “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.”

People began lining up outside the Game Stop store on Alpine Avenue NW around 3:30 p.m. Monday, eight and a half hours before they were to pick up their copies of the game.

Game Stop customers say the waiting hasn’t been all bad. It gives them a chance to meet new people. Some say it’s even a tradition.

“We did it last year,” says a gamer named Claudia.

“We’ve been doing it for all the ‘Call of Duty’ releases, trying to keep the tradition,” says another person, DeVonte.

The midnight release of this game is only for those who pre-ordered it. General sales begin later on Tuesday.
