Current American Idol judge Nicki Minaj & former American Idol judge Steven Tyler

Another day, another war of words brewing on American Idol. First, things got catty between the two new female judges, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. Mariah apparently isn’t dealing well with the fact there’s another diva at the table, and it’s caused for some high tension. Now, former AI judge Steven Tyler has some commentary on both ladies, and what he said about Nicki isn’t really sitting right with her.

“These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best [out of them]. If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with [Idol season 11 winner] Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”

Nicki feels this was highly racist. The thing is, as Miss Info pointed out, Bob Dylan is from nowheresville, Minnesota….there’s MAD corn fields there! Not that I can speak on Steven’s behalf, but it’s QUITE possible that’s what he meant. I strongly dislike how so many people are so quick to play the “you’re a racist” card, and that’s what Nicki did…as you can see by her tweets. I completely understand where she’s coming from as far as being upset though, because how does Steven know WHAT Nicki would do? He can kick rocks in that aspect, but I don’t think he’s being racist. Just rude. LOL. Let us know what you think!
