Gaultier’s high-profile exhibition is a good get for the Brooklyn cultural institution which will be the only museum in the Eastern United States to present it.
Madonna’s Blonde Ambition bra and corset contraptions are on everybody’s mind this week.
One of them is being auctioned off Thursday by Christie’s International in London — and is expected to go for as much as $24,000.
His gender-bending designs like skirts for men will be on display along with his very first design, which has never been exhibited.
More than 30 of the mannequins wearing his eye-popping garb are animated — including one with a face molded to look like Gaultier himself that welcomes visitors to the show in English and French.
There’s also a simulated catwalk that moves mannequins around, like in a real-life fashion show.
