I think this is a great move on the Chiefs part. It’s such a sad story all around, but this poor baby girl.  smh.  Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins had baby Zoey on Sept. 11th and is currently in the care of her grandmother, but without her parents she will need a lot of help emotionally, mentally and financially.

The Chiefs plan to help her and fans will be able to contribute as well…

According to Lindsay H. Jones at USATODAY:

Kansas City Chiefs players plan to start a fund to financially support the infant daughter of Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins.

“Without having either parent in her life now, I think it’s important that she understands the type of love that she should get from a family,” Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn said. “And Jovan was part of our family, and we try to take care of our own.”

Quinn said the team plans to allow the public to also make donations. Other players said it will be their responsibility now to provide even more than financial support.

* We’ll share more details as soon as we get them on how to donate *
