The producer of “Trader Joe’s Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice,” Aliya’s Foods, recalled 4,865 pounds of their frozen product because it may be contaminated with Listeria. They the product was imported from Canada and has already been distributed to Trader Joe’s stores in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Connecticut, Florida, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine and Rhode Island.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is worried that consumers may have already purchased the Product and anyone that thinks they might have purchased the recalled product should look at the label and make sure it is not stamped with the code “2012-10-31″ and lot code “30512.”
