Soccer is probably the one sport that uses minimal technology. They haven’t updated much, wether it be rules, regulations, etc. aside from the jersey designs. The one thing they are known for is the common referee error. Being that they have a lack of technology when it comes to verifying goals and certain calls, there is much room for error. This new technology will be able to tell once the ball crosses the goal line or touches any post and/or cross bar. Funny thing is, even after the system makes a call on a play, the referee can over-rule the call if he feels theres not enough proof to make a valid call. Huh? A solution to fix a problem, that can be over turned at the drop of a hat? Hm… Lets hope this only has positive effects on the game !!
