“Gangnam Style” style is quickly approaching 1 billion video views, you would think  Psy would have cashed in on record sales. Think again Psy will net $7.9 million from ads on Youtube but will only earn approximately $60,000 this year from actual record sales in Korea.  The song is currently available on iTunes for $1.29 but Apple takes 30% of that. Psy will probably make most of his money though endorsements and appearances this year.  Even he’s sold more than 3 million singles and sold 100 in physical CD sales (he gets about 9 percent cut  from that) the Youtube checks will probably  be greater.
