There have been countless rumors that Newark mayor, Cory Booker, will be running for Governor in 2013, but Mayor Booker said that may not be the case. Mayor Booker stated that he might be running for Senate and not Governor in the forthcoming election. We are expected to hear his decision sometime within the next two weeks. He said there are many good Democrats that intend on running for Governor in this election, which is great cause in my opinion Christie has got to go! Regardless of whether he decided to run for Senate or Governor, I’m sure Mayor Booker will succeed in either position as he did being mayor. Mayor Booker is probably the most liked mayor that I can remember, even Republicans like him and praise him! Read more below.

Mayor Booker told CBS: “I am absolutely considering running for governor, as well as giving other options some consideration. I’m going to be focused on that for the next week to ten days or so.” The mayor went on to say that he believes Christie is vulnerable to any Democrat. I’m very interested to see how the Republicans will treat Christie this election since they felt back-stabbed after the governor worked side-by-side with President Obama during Hurricane Sandy.

Mayor Booker also said: “Life ultimately is not about position, it’s about a purpose. And my purpose that I try to focus on every single day is how can I make a difference in the world around me and the community around me. So I’m really thinking about both offices right now and which one can I better serve on the issues that I’m passionate about.” In case you haven’t heard the mayor is currently living on food stamps to highlight the improvement that need to be done to the program as well as raise awareness about hunger and the program.
