I reported yesterday that Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter after his drunken car accident killed friend and teammate Jerry Brown.  This story gets even sadder because it turns out Brown was expecting his first child.  Read more after the jump.

Jerry Brown was an undrafted linebacker out of the University of Illinois who fought his way to the NFL by playing in the Arena league and hanging on to roster spots with the Colts and then the Cowboys.  He fought hard to make it and appeared to be ready to settle down and change his life for the better.

In a Facebook post dated Nov. 29th Brown wrote about having a more positive life and expecting a baby girl on the way.

I hope this opens everyone’s eyes to the dangers of drunk driving.  The one decision doesn’t only affect you, it affects the lives of so many others.
