Former Presidential hopeful and Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee made a shocking statement after the Connecticut shooting almost blaming the all school systems for what occurred. Huckabee made a similar statement after the Aurora, Colorado as well, but for some reason it seems to sting a little more in this case because the victims were so young. Huckabee even went as far as posing the question of “Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?” Thankfully, he isn’t our president. Read what he said below.

Huckabee said that we shouldn’t be surprised when things like this happen because we removed God from schools. His full statement was: “We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?” After the Aurora shooting, Huckabee said: “We don’t have a crime problem, a gun problem or even a violence problem. What we have is a sin problem, and since we’ve ordered God out of our schools, and communities, the military and public conversations, you know we really shouldn’t act so surprised when all hell breaks loose.” People are entitled to their own opinion, but there’s no need for him to be so insensitive, I highly doubt any parent having to cope with the tragedy wants to hear about the lack of God in schools right now.
