We all have had a minimum wage job before where we had to cook, clean, and deal with impatient, moody customers all day, and some of us still do. Many of the people who maintain these low paying jobs for extensive periods of time usually expect some sort of raise after a few months or at MOST a year. He can’t blame nobody but himself. Did he ever want to strive to be better. He never had motivation to want more. After 20 and you expect raises every year. You’d work yourself out of a job. Cause they can get some kid off the street to do it for cheaper.
Despite that he’s been there 20 years, did his responsibilities change? If not, why should he deserve a raise? The work hasn’t changed. He’s still flipping burgers and wiping tables. That type of work pays the minimum and that’s it. It really wouldnt be fair if hes getting paid than any other person doing the same work! If he truly had a problem with it, he wouldn’t be there for 20 years. It’s his decision. Don’t feel bad for him nor throw fault at the employer.
