We’ve all seen leaked photos of some of our favorite celebs like Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson, and sometimes, the pics make their way to the web as a result of a scorned lover or even a mistake by the famous victim themselves. However, in the case of these two ladies and dozens of others, a 36-year-old man by the name of Christopher Chaney actually hacked into their respective emails and stole the photos. Very illegal! It’s now come at a price, and he’s been sentenced to a whopping 10 years in jail! More details below.
Christopher was arrested in connection to the hacks in October of last year and had pled guilty to 9 felony counts in March (including identity theft, wiretapping, and unauthorized access and damage to a protected computer.).
Though he faced 121 years because he’d in total hacked 50 different people’s emails, he was sentenced to 10 years along with being ordered to pay $76,000 in restitution to Scarlett, Christina Aguilera, and actress Renee Olstead.
Doesn’t look like he’s going to be hacking into anything else for a long time!
