The Cowboys haven’t a secured a playoff spot yet but Garrett apparently has done enough to secure his job for next season.

“Take his name off the hot seat. He is safe,” Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer said of Garrett on Fox’s Sunday pregame show.

Glazer reported that Garrett’s handling of the aftermath of linebacker Jerry Brown’s death has helped to solidify the coach in the organization.

What if the Cowboys don’t end the season well?

Glazer said he asked that but was told it didn’t matter.

“(Garrett) will absolutely be back,” Glazer responded.

Suspended New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton will have to look elsewhere if he wants leverage in his contract negotiations.
