In just a short time Google has almost turned Android into a household name. 8 years in and Android devices are moving like hotcakes. According to research Google is moving about 15 Android devices per second . The only other company moving better units right now is McDonalds moving about 17 big Macs per second but they are decades into their business and Android only 8.
