Yesterday there was yet another shooting at a school, this time at a high school in California. A 16-year-old boy walked into his high school to seek revenge on a student who was bullying him. The young man, who has not been identified, told a teacher that he didn’t want to shoot him. When the teen met with Ryan Heber, the science teacher, he told the teacher, “I don’t want to shoot you,” while the teacher and campus supervisor Kim Lee Fields, were trying to convince him to hand over his gun. During their conversation, 28 students were able to escape the situation and make it safely away from the gunman. According to students, 10 minutes before the shooting teachers were updating them about what to do if there is a shooting in a school. Read more below.

Ryan Heber was grazed by a pellet but not hurt during the shooting but refused to seek medical attention saying that he was ok. According to Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood, if it wasn’t for Heber and Fields’ actions there could have been more than one victim. The victim of the shooting has been in critical condition and will face surgery. The shooter had a pocket full of ammunition, according to reports, and the situation could have been so much worse if it wasn’t for the heroes that saved 28+ students.
