In 2012 Infiniti created a huge buzz when they announced moving forward they were changing the names of their vehicles and came up with a new naming system. They had the “G” series, “M” series, FX, QX, etc. Some people were actually upset with the name changes. Not anymore. Out with the old and in with the new. At the auto show in Detroit today, Infinity revealed the 2014 Q50. If you are still mad at the name changes, you need to get your head examined, because this car is a new standard for the brand. You want technology, then this is the car for you. Amongst other things, the Q50 has a steering system that gives drivers choices on how stiff the steering is, and an automated distance control feature that watches not only the car in front of you, but the vehicle in front of that one. This is the first makeover for what was the entry level model of Infiniti since 2007, but this is a big upgrade from the “G” series cars. The Q50 will also come in a hybrid model as well. Infiniti in my opinion is a car drivers love to drive, if that makes sense. Meaning they are cars people love to get out on the open road and make the engine go, or test the handling on curvy roads, and the motor in this car is what you expect. The base Q50 model will retain its 328-hp, 3.7-liter V-6 with 7-speed automatic transmission. The Q50 Hybrid will use a 3.5-liter V-6 mated with a 50 kW electric motor that produces 360 hp.
