Th worlds thinnest watch has just raised over 500k on kickerstarter, reaching 250% of their goal. The watch is made from razor-thin aluminum and an E Ink display. The specs on the watch are .8 millimeters thin — an astounding .0314 inches — and weighs just 12 grams, less than half an ounce. The projects CEO believes the smart watch market is starting to become flooded with competitors and believes “Everyone has crowded around this smart watch market,” project co-founder Jerry O’Leary told me. “But there hasn’t been any innovation in the actual timepiece itself. We thought: what if instead of adding as much as we can, we took as much as as we could?” I wonder how much will this smart watch actually cost once it goes into production?
